The Humble Hobbyist vol.18
I guess you could say Iām officially a running girlie! The perfect vest, a hat to keep me warm, and delicious brownies.
Another 5k in the books babyyyyyy! šš¾āāļøšš¾āāļø
Datrianna and I ran the USA TODAY Hot Chocolate Run this weekend; our second 5k of the year! š„³ Even ran into, no pun intended, a few of my cousins at the race š„°.

Iām a little nervous that running outdoors will be impossible once winter hits but Iām going to do my best to keep the momentum up for as long as possible.
Knitting
The āFriday Slipoverā is complete and Iām obsessed. Itās my style to a T. I love the color, the fit, the style ā I anticipate this vest will get A LOT of wear this fall.
I really want to get to the point that I wear my knits out aka Iām not precious about them and seamlessly incorporate them into my capsule wardrobe.

Once I finished the Friday Slipover, I needed to keep my hands busy (I really donāt remember what life was like before knitting) but I didnāt want a big project so I opted for a stash busting hat.
Using leftovers from my very first sweater, I made the Hipster Hat which was perfect because my head is COLD! I forgot the difference hair makes during the Chicago winter.
I also got to learn the Italian cast-on for this project.
Baking
Every time I bake a new recipe it becomes my favorite but forreal forreal, these brownies are IT! So rich, decadent, and fudgey without being overwhelming or too sweet š¤¤.
Preppy Kitchen says that his brownie recipe is so easy to make that itāll have you ditching box mix and he wasnāt lying! These brownies were a 12/10, no notes.

I also baked a few banana nut loaves š
And after at least 4 failed attempts at a sourdough starter from scratch, I bought a 200 year old dehydrated one!
Hereās hoping I have success rehydrating and baking with it š¤š¾.
Sewing
I havenāt sewn in a few months and it feels impossible to overcome the inertia right now. I really want to sew the corduroy trousers I planned last fall but didnāt get around to.
Send some good vibes that might help me rip the bandaid off! šš¾
Of course I was a pastry chef for Halloween and baked fresh cookies with my costume! #Commitment
The next few weeks will be eventful so knitting, baking, and making may be sparse but who knows, maybe Iāll make another travel video blog like last year š.
See ya soon!
